The Montgomery, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area (commonly known as the Montgomery Metropolitan Area or the River Region) is a metropolitan statistical area in central Alabama. As of 2007, the MSA had a population of 365,962, ranking it 135th among United States metropolitan areas. The Montgomery Metropolitan Area and the Alexander City Micropolitan Statistical Area form the Montgomery-Alexander City, Alabama Combined Statistical Area, which had a 2007 population of 417,573.
